TWENTY schools participated in the Bernard Lynam Cup - still the biggest primary school handball competition in the UK.

The four schools who made it to the semi-finals of the competition were Leverhulme CP, who beat St Joseph's RC 7-6 in a thriller, and St Paul's CE who convincingly defeated Castle Hill 11-4.

Leverhulme won a close final 7-5 in an exciting end-to-end contest.

The four semi-finalists now represent Bolton in the Cavanagh Cup on Friday, May 18, at Wilkins Sp HC (1pm).
