BIN it for Bolton is back in a new bid to clean up the town. If you are sick of seeing litter blow like tumbleweed through our streets then join our campaign.
There is hardly a road in Bolton which is not blighted with cans, bottles, plastic bags and food wrappings carelessly discarded by thoughtless members of the public.
Since we kickstarted the campaign in 2004 with Bolton Council and businessman Andrew Dickson, more than 1,000 people have been fined £50 for littering and dog fouling. This year the fine has increased to £75.
Now The Bolton News has teamed up with the Bolton Town Centre Management Company to help clean the town up.
Many ordinary citizens care deeply about the environment we live in and now everyone can do their bit by not dropping litter and by picking up rubbish they see swirling around them.
