A cleaner'S numbers came up trumps as she scooped £101,224 playing bingo.

The 71-year-old, grandmother, who has asked not to be named, hit the jackpot at the Mecca Club in Breightmet Fold Lane last Wednesday.

And she is splitting her winnings 50-50 with a friend who was on holiday at the time but usually plays with her every week.

The woman, from Breightmet, won the national game prize of £100,000, plus the £1,155 regional prize and the £69 house prize.

Her winning full house was completed in 39 numbers, picking up the £100,000 for the lowest call out of the 500 clubs nationwide.

The winner said: "I sat there shaking when I realised I had won, and I shed a few tears. My partner couldn't speak when I told him."

The woman has been playing bingo for years and has been a member of the Mecca Club since 1998.

She said her friend had been shocked by her win and the decision to share the windfall after arriving back from holiday.

The woman, who has four children and four grandchildren, won £1,070 at the same club four years ago.

She intends to treat her children with her winnings but has not yet decided what else she will do with her money.

"I'm still too much in shock to decide," she added.
