WITH a bang of drums the Sugababes hit the stage at the MEN Arena.

Sporting diamante sunglasses and silver biker jackets, the girls launched into a high energy performance with one of their latest hits, Red Dress.

The crowd went crazy - and the first song proved to be the tip of the iceberg as the girls launched into hit after hit, including a medley of tracks which didn't make their Greatest Hits album.

Keisha sparkled - even more that the dazzling jewel encrusted microphone stands the girls used as props, fans screamed for Heidi and following the departure of band member Mutya in 2005, banners aimed at the band's newest member, read Welcome to the Sugababes, Amelle.

The hit of the night was Stronger, which they sang to a background of pictures of starving children. As the girls went off for a costume change they played the Make Poverty History "Click" advert which they appeared in alongside Sting, Kylie Minogue and Bob Geldof to name but a few.

The girls stomped back on stage for Walk this Way, their official Comic Relief duet with Girls Aloud, which hit the top of the charts last month. (March.) They entertained fans with a cover of Primal Scream's Get Your Rocks Off, their chair writhing during Easy got many fans hot under the collar and the crowd reached fever pitch as they performed Freak Like Me.

With three triple platinum albums, four number ones, a Brit Award and a gig supporting Take That on their Stadium Tour, it's hard to understand why this is the girls' first Arena Tour, but they rose to the challenge in spectacular style.

The girls played out to Hole in My Head and Push The Button, dressed in skinny T-shirt dresses with neon print reading "Feel My Hits". And feel them the fans did. Dancing in the aisles, lasooing cowboy hats and blowing their whistles, the Sugababes look set to be pushing their fans' buttons for many years to come.
