RADCLIFFE CC narrowly squeezed home 5-4 when they gave Hilton G five points start in the Warburton Cup.
Nigel Hallows won three sets and Jim Chadwick two, which included the last set of the night on the fifth game for Radcliffe who were pushed all the way by the Hilton team.
The semi-final clash of the two Wharton teams in the Brian Gittins Cup produced a 7-2 scoreline in favour of the A team, with six sets decided on the fifth game.
Barry Elliott won three, and Bob Jackson and Glen Payne two apiece for the A team.
In the other semi-final, Tonge A, on two points start, cruised to an 8-1 win over Ramsbottom A, with three wins by Darren Howarth and Dave Griffith.
In the George Yates Shield, Third Division team, Hilton I, on three points start, scored an excellent 5-2 win over Second Division team, Hilton E.
Star performer was the I team's number three, Gill Marsden, who scored an excellent treble.
The other semi-final was contested by two Second Division teams, Heaton C and Bolton Evening News A, and played off scratch.
Two wins for Chris Higson, Frank Green and Steve Woods, gave the Heaton team a 6-3 win, with Rod Hall winning two for the BEN team.
Both the semi-finals of the Ron Hindle Memorial Trophy were played off scratch. The Tonge C trio of Steven Hall, Paul Minogue and Stuart McCaig proved far too strong for the Hilton M team of Joe McFarlane, David Winstanley and Callum Cook, running out comfortable 9-0 winners.
Three wins by Raj Patel and two by Elliott France gave Lads Club A a 5-3 win over Heaton G. The match was all square at 2-2 but the Lads Club won the next two and the penultimate set to clinch their win. The three Heaton players, Colin Roberts, Clive Walsh and Phil Ridings all won one set.
A couple of outstanding league matches have been played this week which have a bearing on promotion and relegation. In Division One Nomads B won 6-3 at Little Lever C thanks to three wins by Gareth Palmer, two by Dave Holden and one by Martin Howarth, which moves them up to third from bottom of the table, three points ahead of Hilton C. In Division Two, Hilton D hit the top after beating Heaton C 8-1, with trebles by Alan Tomlinson and John Biggins and two by John Brinkworth.
Entries are now being accepted for the Bolton Closed Championships to be played at the Hilton Centre on Friday and Saturday, April 20 and 21.

Bolton ladies, represented by junior players Reena Ardeshana, Becky Griffith and Adele Spibey, scored an excellent 5-2 win over the very experienced Liverpool team in the Lancashire and Cheshire League.
There were three wins by Reena and two by Becky, to win the Mabel Neary Cup. Unfortunately the men's team went down 5-2 against a strong Halton team in the Norman Cook Trophy, Mike Moir and Paul Brandwood winning one set apiece.
