MORE than 50 firefighters tackled a blaze at Manchester's Central Library last night.
The fire broke out in the basement of the building, in Mount Street, just after 6.30pm.
The library was closed to the public at the time and police said all members of staff had been located.
Some roads were closed while firefighters tackled the blaze.
