A 12-WEEK-OLD pedigree puppy was stolen from its owners as they walked her in the park.

Darren Hellam and his girlfriend Beverley Hilton were walking their blue Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Sky, in Seven Acres Country Park, Bolton, when it was snatched by two youths.

The men are said to have distracted the couple as they crossed a gate with their pet, at about 12.30pm, on Tuesday.

The owners say that one of the boys showed Miss Hilton a tattoo, on his inside arm, of a bull terrier with clipped ears.

He is then reported to have stroked the dog and picked it up before running off with it and making away in a dark blue BMW, towards Breightmet.

The couple, from Tonge Moor, bought Sky from a breeder for £1,000 last month. Sky has a distinctive white cross marking on its chest and white patches on its paws. The dog is insured, but the couple are offering a £1,000 reward for its safe return.

Anyone with information about Sky's whereabouts should contact Mr Hellam on 07922592818.
