ALMOST 300 addresses in Greater Manchester have been flagged up by ambulance bosses because of their violent residents.

The North-west Ambulance Service flags up addresses where people have specific medical conditions, such as heart disease or diabetes, or where people are aggressive or violent.

But chiefs insist abusive patients make up only four per cent - about 280 - of the total addresses highlighted.

Delwyn Wray, North-west Ambulance Service NHS Trust director for Greater Manchester, said: "Any information we hold on those are only held temporarily, in the strictest of confidence and not passed to any other organisation."
