A MOVE to extend the disabled parking badge scheme has been welcomed by Bolton North-east MP David Crausby.
The Government is consulting on changes to extend the "Blue Badge" scheme to include children under two who are dependent upon bulky medical equipment.
People who have disabilities in both arms from birth would also be eligible, while a hologram would be introduced on the badge to protect against fraud.
Mr Crausby said: "The changes we are proposing will help ensure that Blue Badges continue to meet the needs of disabled people. We want the people who need a badge to get one, and stamp out abuse of the scheme."
The consultation will end on June 19 and it is hoped the new regulations will be in place by September 2007.
