A PIECE of Bolton Wanderers history is going under the hammer at Christie's auction house in London.
An autograph album with pages signed by the Bolton Wanderers 1952/53 FA Cup runners-up team, the Wanderers' 1955/56 side and the England team that played against Scotland in 1956, is being auctioned for £350.
Also for sale is a limited-edition painting of the last line-up of Manchester United's Busby Babes, taken on February 5, 1958, the day before the Munich air crash.
The print, signed by crash survivors Albert Scanlon, Harry Gregg, Kenny Morgans, Ray Wood and Jackie Blachflower, is expected to fetch up to £300.
The crash happened when a plane carrying the team after a European Cup tie against Yugoslavian side Red Star Belgrade crashed on an icy runway in Munich.
Twenty-three of the 43 passengers, including journalists, air crew and United staff, died in the disaster.
Seven United players - Geoff Bent, Roger Byrne, Eddie Colman, Mark Jones, David Pegg, Tommy Taylor and Liam Whelan - died instantly. Duncan Edwards died from his injuries on February 21.
Two other players had to retire because of their injuries and Matt Busby was seriously hurt.
Also up for auction is a signed intinerary of Bury's tour of Denmark in May, 1937, signed by all the players involved in the tour, which is expected to fetch £300.
Matthew Paton, of Christie's, said: "Bolton is a very passionate sporting area and they are doing well again in football so we are expecting a great deal of interest in these lots from people who are interested in picking up items from the 1950s at this fairly low price."
The lots are among 203 items from football history on sale in Tuesday's auction. Visit www.christies.com for details.
