FASHION should be for everyone says the organiser of an event taking place next week.

Fashionistas from Bolton are being invited to Manchester Fashion Week to enjoy a diverse line-up of designers from around the world.

The event, which kicks off on Tuesday, is being organised by Liverpool Fashion Week founder Amanda Moss and her team.

Rachel Christie, niece of Olympic athlete Linford, will model on the opening night, Los Angeles designer Quynn is flying over to showcase her designs alongside Childsplay Clothing who are currently being filmed by ITVBe for a follow-up to reality TV show Baby Wears Prada.

Also appearing on the opening night are couture high street brand Jigsaw, Blue Inc launching their new label and Taslima Ahmad showcasing her printed fabric collection.

Mother-of-six Amanda, from Liverpool, said: "It's all about the fashion.

"Fashion is for everyone, no matter what size or shape.

"If you get dressed in the morning, then you are interested in fashion. People shouldn't be intimated by fashion."

On Wednesday, the New Talent Night will provide a springboard for designers and boutique owners in their first year of business.

It will be attended by buyers from small boutiques keen to stock one-off pieces.

The closing night, on Thursday, will celebrate 'International Fusion' with fashion designers representing every continent.

They include Diamonds are Forever, a vintage inspired designer who takes trends from previous decades and redesigns them with a twist and Merseyside Chio Couture, a half Maltese/half Nigerian designer, who cites Karl Lagerfeld as her main influence for pursuing a career in fashion and her show will feature theatrical drama and glamour.

The finale of the week will be presented by Maliha, a Mancunian designer with her Sri Lankan and Pakistani-influenced bejewelled collection.

Amanda, whose event is independent to any organised in Manchester in the past, said: “It is wrong that London is the fashion centre for the UK and all the main shows take place down south.

"The north is a hive of talent and I don’t see why Manchester cannot take centre stage for fashion week in the future.

"Media City moved up here, it’s only a matter of time before the fashion industry does as well — people will soon be queuing up to participate in Manchester Fashion Week.

"I am so excited for this year’s event."
