Name, age and where are you from?
Kirsty Fullen, aged 27, from Bolton
When and where did you start performing?
I started my singing years ago but I've never done anything with it, always just been karaoke bars, etc.
I have entered a competition called Brand New Artist for Christmas 2015. The competition started in April and will end in June.
I have just started co-working with Liam Brandon, aged 25, from London. He is a solo guitarist. The aim is to start doing our own gigs very soon.
What is your sound and who are your influences?
The main sound for me is ballads, although I enjoy country/rock and also pop.
My idols are Whitney Houston, Jessie J and Christina Aguilera — powerful singers who really show their voices off.
If you are not already, is it your ambition to become professional?
The aim of the competition I am in is to gather as many votes as I possibly can.
The competition is not based on any judging so my aim is to get the whole world behind me and support me.
I have reached the second stage which is the top 50 acts and my aim now is to reach the top 25. There will be media attention and also radio interviews.
The top 25 winners will have the rights to a CD of their own which will be distributed into shops.
Is there anything unusual or interesting about you or the act?
At the end of the competition, from every £1 earned by votes we receive 56p back to do with as we please. As you can imagine, the money really does mount up. Instead of keeping this money for myself, I have chosen to donate to a charity close to my family's heart as my dad has recently been diagnosed with blood cancer called multiple myeloma.
The cancer charity has been very supportive from the moment I rang and spoke to Ruth Harris about my thoughts.
To vote for Kirsty from a mobile, text Platform 35 to 63333. Votes cost 50p, plus one standard network charge.
