TURTON will player Atherton Collieries at the Macron Stadium on Tuesday night in the final of the Hospital Cup after beating Atherton LR 1-0 in the last four.
David Burrow's first-minute matchwinner set up the trip to Wanderers' Championship ground, capping an eventful week for Turton.
Neil Johnson's side achieved promotion to the West Lancashire League Premier Division last weekend after a 2-1 win at rivals Poulton Town, only to suffer agony in the final of the President's Cup on Monday after losing to Fulwood Amateurs 5-4 on penalties.
They quickly got that disappointment out of their system determined to overcome LR - who play two levels higher in the North West Counties First Division – on Wednesday.
The Thomasson Fold side got off to the best possible start when Dave Hanlon's corner eluded the LR defenders and Burrows chested the ball down before firing past keeper Danny Lever.
Johnson said: "We only had 13 players available with people working and injuries in the warm-up.
"We scored early doors and I thought we were the best side in the first half.
"Then Jordan Lomax suffered a chipped collarbone. That was such a loss because he has been our best player in the last two months and is going to be missed.
"After that I don't think many people would have argued about us getting to the final."
Colls will possibly offer an even tougher challenge. Michael Clegg's side amassed 96 points on their way to the NWCL First Division title this season, fired on by top striker Mark Battersby, who scored 62 goals in league and cup.
Tuesday's final at the Macron Stadium will kick off at 7pm.
