NEW Little Hulton captain Neil Jarvis is determined to lead the team back up the league where he believes they deserve to be.
Jarvis has found it a hard watch from the sidelines in recent seasons while he took a break from playing.
The one-club man has returned this season and made captain, and his first move was to bring back some more former Little Hulton stalwarts from their more successful past.
And it paid off in their first game of the Bolton Association season last Saturday when they beat Adlington.
"I got Mark Penny back, Brian Kelly and Adam Newton," he said.
"I'm back playing too and I've got Roger Kumah as vice captain, helping me out and anchoring the middle order.
"It's been hard watching them the last couple of years. The team was going nowhere and Little Hulton shouldn't be bottom of the league.
"I've played for them all my life, I've never played for anyone else and I never would do.
"They've lost some players to other clubs which hasn't helped and they've dropped down the league.
"I don't want them to be going downhill so I've come back playing and brought some of the other players back with me."
And Jarvis is warning clubs not to expect an easy ride when they come up against his side, as Westleigh will do tomorrow.
"I don't play to participate, I play to win," he said.
"The spirit was good against Adlington, a lot better than it has been the last few years.
"We have a good team on paper and we're ready for it. We don't fear anyone.
"We've kept Shaukat Patel, our main bowler, which is good and we've brought in Nekoli Parris as pro who's settled in right away, and I've spoken to every player and told them what is expected of them.
"I'm pleased with the new signings. Everyone knows Mark Penny, he's one of the best amateurs in the league and he's going to be our secret weapon.
"Brian Kelly and Adam Newton on their day will destroy anyone. Bring it on."
