BIG-HITTING Bradshaw started their Bolton League campaign in style with a 147-run victory against Astley Bridge.
John Kerrigan led the way with the bat with 78 – including eight fours and five sixes – while Stuart Hornby (43) and Anthony Jones (39) all scored high as Bradshaw hit a whopping 287-8.
David Cryer took 3-74 and Syd De Silva bowled 3-108 but it was not enough to prevent the Rigbys outfit from racking up the highest score of the day.
De Silva (63) attempted a revival but it came to no avail as Steve Foster took 3-38 and professional Kamran Younis took 3-32.
Elsewhere, Farnworth Social Circle face an uphill task if they want to retain the title after slipping to an 11-run defeat to Kearsley.
Saeed Anwar Jnr scored 87 as Kearsley posted 175 all out, with Dave Mather taking 6-65 .
But the champion’s batting line-up never got out of first gear as Chris Barrow and Matthew Parkinson both scored 35 late on, but it was too little too late as Anwar Jnr’s 4-59 set up the win.
Professional Babar Naeem recorded an unbeaten century for Horwich as they overcame a resilient Greenmount.
The all-rounder notched 107 runs and took 5-57 in the 40-run victory.
Eagley secured a convincing victory away to Walkden by 120 runs.
Having won only once in the whole of last season they brought in Sajif Bojahna, and the debutant led them to victory as he hit 93.
Ali Khan also scored high with 64 which saw Eagley post 242-7. The host’s were dismissed for 122 all out with Sayed Shah hitting 47. Ali Khan (4-42) and Danny Counsell (3-3) were the pick of the bowlers .
Little Lever were brushed aside by six wickets at home to Farnworth. Dane Hargreaves scored 26 of their 72 total – which was mainly down to the superb bowling of Melbourne Austin (4-33) and Curtis Anderton (3-6).
Craig Mann bowled 3-15 as he attempted to stop the Farnworth reprisal, but Chris Braxendale led the attack and his 26 runs helped secure the victory.
Kieran Edwards took seven wickets for 49 runs as Westhoughton defeated Heaton by five wickets.
Sam Hardman hit 28 as the hosts were dismissed for 115.
Mark Atherton also struck 28 as Westhoughton fought back to claim the win. Joe Ducker took 4-15 overs.
Amal Dalugoda bowled 4-16 as Egerton rolled over Tonge by eight wickets.
Tonge were skittled out for 76 and Susantha Pradeep notched 45 not out as Egerton cruised to victory.
RESULTS: Bradshaw 287-8, Astley Bridge 140. Bradshaw won by 147 runs.
Heaton 115, Westhoughton 116-6. Westhoughton won by four wickets.
Horwich 169-7, Greenmount 129. Horwich won by 40 runs.

Little Lever 72, Farnworth 74-4. Farnworth won by six wickets.
Tonge 76, Egerton 79-2. Egerton won by eight wickets.
Walkden 122, Eagley 242-7. Eagley won by 120 runs.
