CYCLISTS from seven Bolton high schools produced impressive performances in the first Year 10 and 11 Cycling Championships, held at the Manchester Velodrome.
Withins were the overall winners of the event which organisers hope to hold on an annual basis.
They beat St Josephs into second place with Hayward, George Tomlinson, Smithills, Turton and Sharples also competing.
The performance of the competition came from Turton's Scott Doodson in the boys' one-lap time trial, his time of 18.5secs.
The girls' time trial was won by Harriet Clark, of George Tomlinson, with a ride of 21.19secs.
Withins proved their dominance by winning both the boys' and girls' team sprints, while the boys' pursuit was won by St Josephs A team and the girls' pursuit by Turton A.

Runners-up: St Josephs RC High School and Sports College.

Girls' One Lap Time Trial: Harriet Clark 21.19 secs (George Tomlinson).
Boys' Team Sprint: Withins 62 secs (three laps) (Marcus Tyldesley, Phil Ulinn, Anthony Moran).
Girls' Team Sprint: Withins 70.02 secs (three laps) (Oriel Hardman, Dominique Kay, Rebecca Watkins).
Boys' Pursuit: St Josephs A (eight laps) 3 mins 4 secs.
Girls' Pursuit: Turton A (six laps).
