Fleetwood 2nd 21 Bolton 2nd 5 Bolton came back down to earth with a bump against top of the league Fleetwood.
The visitors were hoping to build on several encouraging performances recently, but they were no match for the Fylde coast side which have now secured promotion.
The writing was on the wall from the kick-off as Fleetwood took advantage of their early dominance by taking the lead with a penalty.
Fleetwood then ran in two tries as they got round the outside of the Bolton backs with quick ball and good runnning lines. Bolton started the second-half on the back foot again but came back into the game with drives from Lloyd Green and Pete Rob and their first foray into the Fleetwood 22 ended in a score.
It followed a maul from a line out which was driven towards the line.
As Fleetwood concentrated on stopping the maul, captain Alex Quegan peeled off to score. Stuart Paul then missed the conversion.
Fleetwood got two more penalties, but failed to cross the line - the first time at home this season they have not scored a try in a half.
Bolton 2nds do not play again until April 14, but the 1sts, 3rds and 4ths are all playing on Saturday.
l Bolton's Under-15 team led by coach Steve Knibb won through to the final of the EFE Lancashire Plate. It will be played on Sunday at Broughton Park.
The same team were Under-14 Plate winners last year. Kick off is 1.30pm.
