IT is going to be a great night.
The Bolton and Bury Business Awards dinner was one of the main events of the business calendar last year, - and this year it will be bigger and better.
The dinner will be held at the Reebok Stadium on Thursday, June 28.
The presenter for the evening will be award-winning BBC Radio Five Live broadcaster Victoria Derbyshire.
Victoria, who was born in Bury but grew up in Turton, was a presenter on BBC GMR before moving to London to present Five Live Breakfast on weekdays from 6am. She is currently taking a short break after giving birth to her second child. She is a Sony Award winner, including two Golds for the Breakfast Show in 1999 and 2002, and a Sony Bronze for Broadcaster of the Year in 2001.
She said: "In a way, my childhood spans the two towns of Bolton and Bury, so I know them both quite well.
"It will be wonderful to come home again. My mother and stepfather still live in Turton, and it will be great to be at a prestigious event like these awards. I am really looking forward to it."
Alongside her radio work, Victoria also presents Sports Talk for Channel 4, a Saturday morning sports discussion show, and Late Night London for ITV, a current affairs debate programme.
Providing the entertainment on the night will be Liverpool comedian and Phoenix Nights star Ted Robbins.
With a degree in English and drama from Liverpool University, Ted went to work at Butlins as a redcoat.
A career in theatre and television has seen him play many parts as well as starring with his sister, Kate, in shows on ITV, and presenting quiz and gameshows such as Quiz Night, Bratpack, and Chainletters.
He is currently a presenter for BBC Radio Lancashire. Generally recognised as one of the top TV warm-up studio hosts in the country, Ted has recently been returning to dramatic ways with appearances in Holby City, Merseybeat, Doctors, Brookside, and as the man who burned down the Phoenix Club - Den Perry - in Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights.
