STONE features will be added to a new brick shop front in Horwich.
Horwich town councillors approved plans for the old post office in Winter Hey Lane, provided it had some stone work, but it was built in brick.
Chris Maffei, who completed the building work for applicant BID Group, put forward his case to a meeting of Horwich town councillors.
He said: "We wanted to make the building stand out and it would be something special in Horwich, but if you want me to put stone in it I am happy to do it."
Councillors decided they do want some stone features to be added so it will be in keeping with the character of the area. They agreed to approve the retrospective application on the condition that some stone is added.
