1867: Bolton Evening News launched on March 19 by W F Tillotson in Mawdsley Street. It was the first halfpenny evening paper in the country.
1867: September 20 - Bolton biscuit manufacturer, John Rigby, killed by falling tree.
1867: Bolton Parish Church of St Peter's Bolton le Moors rebuild started.
1867: October 5 - Sunnyside Institute, Daubhill, erected by Tootal Broadhurst & Lee, opened.
1868: The Bolton Evening News becomes founder member of the Press Association.
1868: February 22 - Commission Street Unitarian Chapel & Daubhill Wesleyan school opened.
1868: July 14 - Special Constables sworn in as Anti-Papist agitator William Murphy arrested.
1868: August 12 - The new Post Office in Bradshawgate opened.
1869: January 30 - Dr Chadwick transferred another £5,000 for his charities to Bolton 1869: March - St James' Church, opened by licence of Bishop of Manchester.
1869: April 18 - last service before re-building, All Saints Church Bolton.
1869: July 19 - Prince and Princess of Wales toured the area.
1869: September 11 - Bolton Moor Temperance Hall was opened.
1869: October 16 - Little Lever Co-operative Stores were opened.
