BOXING: Jamie Moore's will take on tough Argentinian Sebastian Lujan after Sechew Powell pulled out of their eagerly-anticipated clash next month.
The British light-middleweight champion was due to fight the classy American at Altrincham Leisure Centre on Friday, April 13.
But negotiations with Powell, ranked number seven in the IBF world rankings, broke down earlier this week and the 28-year-old Walkden ace will now step into the ring with the equally impressive Lujan.
"Powell didn't want to come over," said Moore's manager, Steve Wood. "We had agreed the fight in principle but they came back to us and said he didn't want to fight in the UK."
Instead, Moore will now face 27-year-old Lujan, who went the distance with the world-class Ukranium Sergiy Dzinziruk for the WBO crown last May, in a bid to secure a world-title shot later this year.
Wood added: "It's a good marker to see where Jamie is at on the world level."
