A SPACE age sound echoed through the Albert Halls last night.
Bolton's Junior Youth Orchestra performed a medley of Star Trek themes for a delighted audience at the penultimate concert in Bolton Music Service's annual series.
Other highlights included a rendition of The Beatles classic Hey Jude, by the town's youth brass band, some classic bebop from the beginner concert band, and samba rhythms from the intermediate percussion ensemble.
Tonight's performance will bring the curtain down on a terrific week of shows by the best in young musical talent from across the borough.
On the bill are the Smithills Satellite Steel Pan and Percussion ensemble, the Combined Satellite Training Choirs, the town's saxophone ensemble and junior youth choir.
After the break, Rivington and Turton Junior Strings ensemble will be followed by Little Lever Beginner Brass Band, Bolton Youth Clarinet Choir and the New Century Strings.
Tickets cost £4 or £2.50 for concessions and are available from the box office from 6pm, ahead of the 7pm performances.
