PAUL and Dave Massey deservedly picked up many awards in the men's and men's vets sections at Horwich RMI Harriers' senior presentation night.
Janet Rashleigh did likewise in the ladies' and lady vets sections while two of the most prestigious awards went to Belinda Keating and Chris Heys, who were voted club lady and club man of the year.
Horwich RMI Harriers ladies team won the team award in last Saturday's Haigh Hall Relays.
Thirteen ladies teams completed the relay and the Horwich team led from start to finish. Katie Ingram had a great run on leg one (22.03) and gave the team's second leg runner Angela Allen a minute lead. She added over a minute to the lead with an excellent run (23.09), and handed over to daughter Dionne (24.07) who, on her debut as a senior runner for the club, ran brilliantly to finish over two minutes clear of the second team.
Lisa Heyes (23.46) took over on the final leg and showed that she is getting back to her old form and gave Horwich a winning margin of a minute.
Rob Jackson was Horwich's first finisher in the recent popular Roddlesworth Roller six mile multi-terrain race held at Abbey Village. He was also first over-40. Hot on Rob's heels was Dave Massey in ninth (first over-45). Lisa Heyes returned to winning form, finishing first lady and first over-35 in a time of 39.04. She was nearly a minute clear of second lady Rachel Searson of Blackburn. Steve Nolan continues to race well finishing in 16 place and he completed Horwich's winning vets team.
The race was won by Bolton runner Paul Freary.
