TENON, the Chorley-based accountancy and business advisory firm, has announced the promotion of Chris Ratten to director of recovery in the North-west.
Based in the company's Manchester office, Chris has been with Tenon and its legacy practice, Lathams, for more than 13 years. He specialises in turnarounds and formal insolvencies for SMEs and owner-managed businesses.
Mr Ratten said: "The North-west market has seen some interesting times over the last few months and with the current economic climate and impact of the interest rate rises I suspect there will be tougher times still ahead."
Garin Davies has been revealed as the general manager of the forthcoming £33 million Macdonald Manchester Hotel, which is scheduled to open in October.
Mr Davies, aged 39, has worked as manager of the the highly acclaimed St Paul's Hotel in Sheffield for the last two years. He will now be responsible for the new hotel, which is located in the heart of the city and close to the busy Piccadilly Station. Joining him is Liz Wood, who is taking over as director of sales and marketing. Ms Wood will be responsible for handling all the market segments of the hotel and building key relationships within the business community.
