Name: Chris Harrington Born: Kings Lynn, 1974 Company: Cowgill Holloway FMG Position: Financial Planning Consultant Where did you start your career?

I began working for Friends Provident in 1997 and joined Cowgill Holloway in January 2006.

What got you interested in your industry?

I have always had an interest in financial matters and studied economics at university. I was attracted to working within finance but also in a role where it involved working with people. Working as a financial planning consultant combines these attributes really well.

What is the secret of your success?

Working with clients' personal financial affairs inevitably involves dealing with matters that people hold very close to their hearts. As such, it is vital to gain the trust of the client in order to advise them well. This can only be obtained by working hard for the client and by always working for their best interests.

Who has been your biggest influence?

No one person in particular. As with many people, I try to take the best bits from each person that I have worked with and bring them together.

Favourite book I particularly enjoyed Back from the Brink: The Autobiography by Paul McGrath.

Favourite film Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction and Goodfellas are three fantastic films each with their own qualities.

Favourite spare time activity I play golf badly and take part in armchair sports.
