A SPECIALIST drainage supplier is flush with success after it merged with a national rival.
Pentagon Water, based on the Peel Industrial Estate in Bury, has merged its business with UK Drainage Network, UKDN, a national specialist drainage service, which manages drainage and burst pipe claims and provides subsidence investigation services for the country's largest insurers.
Established in October 2005 as a joint venture between two of UKDN's founder contractors, Pentagon Water provides a specialist drainage service to commercial organisations and households across the North of England and Scotland.
The company has been operating in partnership with UKDN since its launch.
It has now been re-branded as UKDN, which has a 280-strong workforce and a fleet of 100 vehicles throughout the country. Contract business will be controlled by the Birmingham headquarters, but local jobs will still be handled by staff at the Bury office.
Pentagon Water co-founder Richard Thomas said: "The response to the merger from customers and staff has been very positive.
"Pooling our expertise with UKDN and operating under the one brand name and business structure will help us deliver an unrivalled nationwide specialist drainage service.
"We hope that the merger will provide us with an exciting opportunity to grow further over the next few years and to develop an even wider service based on our expertise in the drainage market."
