A GIG at The Met in Bury by Bolton comedian Dave Spikey has raised £2,660 for an animal charity.
Managers of Bradshaw-based Pet Rehome were delighted with the sum, although they still need a new home for two dogs photographed with Dave in The Bolton News.
Chairman Kathy Walton said Spikey had given five shows since becoming the charity's patron.
"It was a wonderful night and a sell-out. We're only a small charity and Dave helps us so much," she said.
However, she added that a home was desperately needed for five-year-old lurcher, Deva, and Ollie, a two-year-old Jack Russell, whose owner works long hours and cannot give them the attention they need.
"Everyone who saw the photo said what nice dogs they were but no-one has offered them a home yet.
"We'd like them to go together because they are really good pals," Mrs Walton said.
The charity, which runs short-term foster homes for dogs, holds a spring fair and coffee morning on March 31, between 10am and 1pm at Astley Bridge Methodist Church, Eden Street, Bolton. There will be stalls and refreshments. The comedian has often attended such events to sign autographs.
Anyone who could offer the dogs a home should call the charity on 01204 304679.
