AN Albert Halls audience found its feet marching to the beat of African drums last night after another concert from Bolton's best young musicians.
Children from the Lord Street, Sharples and Oxford Grove primary schools demonstrated skills learned through the Wider Opportunities project, which involves entire classes learning to play instruments.
Head of Bolton Music Service, Jane Hampson, said: "The djemba drums made the most amazing sound".
The concert was the third in the series, featuring youngsters from more than 40 ensembles from across the borough. The series ends tomorrow.
String, brass, flute, percussion and jazz music were all in the mix last night and Mrs Hampson said: "The high quality of the performance was a credit to the music centre staff."
Another Wider Opportunities group, from Red Lane Primary School, will give tonight's show a Latin flavour by performing their own samba.
Other highlights include Bolton Junior Youth Orchestra, the town's youth brass band and intermediate percussion ensemble.
Tickets cost £4 or £2.50 for concessions and are available from the box office from 6pm, ahead of the 7pm performances.
