MCFLY have revealed how band member Danny Jones offended pop group Westlife.
The former Thornleigh Salesian College pupil caused sparks to fly when he said McFly would not be releasing a covers album like the Irish band.
Bandmate Harry Judd told in an interview how he had to smooth things out after the singer slighted the quartet.
He said: "That was another Danny classic. I had to apologise to them on Danny's behalf."
It seems the band, which shot to fame in 2004 with the hit single Five Colours In Her Hair, has been mingling with A-list celebs.
They have collaborated with Roger Daltrey, Brian May, Matt Willis and Charlotte Church, and boast of being friends with Oasis.
"We've met Liam twice," said bassist Dougie Poynter. Danny always jokes that we're going to be his best men at his wedding."
Danny said: "I was really chuffed that I met him and spoke to him like a mate. I also got Brian May to play with us on tour."
McFly's latest single Transylvania was due to be released in February but has been put back to May because of filming commitments for Comic Relief.
The band recently returned from filming in Africa where they have been finding out for themselves how funds they helped raise have been put to use.
They visited the township of Kamwokya in Uganda where Comic Relief has been helping educate children and to run clinics.
