George Tomlinson School staged an indoor athletics tournament for six feeder primary schools on Monday, March 12.
The tournament was organised by school sports co-ordinator David Purnell, and the junior sport leaders in Year 10 helped to run it on the day.
It was the first time the school had taken part in an athletics tournament and enjoyed the event so much that they are planning to start up an after-school club at George Tomlinson School. Spindle Point won after a closely contested event and will go on to the final at Smithills on Friday.
Results: 1. Spindle Point 35; 2. St Stephens 51; 3. St Saviours 51; 4. St Johns 75; 5. Kearsley West 92; 6. Prestolee 111.
