BOLTON School have had major team and individual swimming success at local and national level.
Daniel Sliwinksi broke the British junior 50m record with a superb performance at the Lancashire County Championships.
He recorded a time of 29.06 seconds at Manchester, knocking almost a second off the previous record.
His record-breaking performance in the under-17s race saw him qualify for the British Swimming Championships at six different events.
Daniel, who has gone to the top of the junior rankings, will take part at the British Swimming Championships in Manchester from next Monday to April 1.
The Bolton School Girls' Division swim team performed outstandingly at the Bolton Town Championships.
In the junior competition, the girls' were overall winners for the third consecutive year. Emma Saunders broke Bolton Schools' records in the 50m freestyle (27.89secs) and the butterfly (32.30secs).
Senior school swimming team coach, Mrs McCulloch, said: "These are exceptional times for a 12-year-old."
The intermediate team were also overall winners in their competition.
The team won the freestyle and medley categories and Jennifer Whitehead won the 50m backstroke race. The senior team recorded an overall position of second place.
Notable achievements included the freestyle team winning their category and Rachel Hildyard winning the 50m freestyle.
