Westhoughton Lions U13 22 Leigh East 50
AFTER a six week break, the lions came back roaring!
A depleted team of eight lads was determined to show that they have the best interests of the club at heart.
Jake Kelly and Peter Wright were among the try scorers and first ever scores came from Ben Carter and Tom Cupitt.
Cupitt's try was created by Tom Richardson's fearless tackling, and a smart interception from Joe Jones' allowed Tom to sprint 60m to the line.
Conversions came from Matthew Meehan and Jack McLeish.
Every player gave 100 per cent and the final score doesn't reflect the quality of The Lions' play.
West Lions U10 14 Chorley 28
THIS was a performance full of pride from the Lions.
The two sides were closer than the score suggests as The Lions were twice held up over the line and the only difference between the teams was Chorley's strong-running full back.
The Lions' forwards were again impressive, with Aidan Mann running hard and Thomas Watkins making 20 tackles.
The Lions' tries came from captain Chris Brownlow (2) and the spirited Joe Gornall, who took his opportunity in the corner after excellent handling along the back line.
