BLACKROD residents have discovered that if you want something badly enough it is achievable.
For years people in the area have campaigned to get the junction at the A6 Blackrod by-pass and Manchester Road altered.
During the last three years alone 17 people have been injured in crashes at the junction and one woman was killed nearby.
Now at last Bolton Council is to spend £240,000 to improve the accident blackspot over the next three months. There may well be some disruption to motorists but, as a council spokesman said, the improved safety aspects will be worth any temporary inconvenience.
