ANOTHER varied concert by Bolton's best young musicians left the Albert Halls audience in raptures last night.
Organisers of Music Centre Presents, the annual performance by youngsters from Bolton Music Service, say they have received floods of praise from impressed spectators.
Last night was rounded off by an accomplished flute solo from 17-year-old Canon Slade and Royal Northern College of Music pupil Elizabeth Baxendale.
Head of the music service Jane Hampson said: "It was a really varied concert and the range of ensembles really showcased the wide opportunities available to young people."
Tonight's performance features traditional African drumming from Lord Street, Sharples and Oxford Grove Primary School pupils, the youth flute choir, training strings orchestra, beginners brass band, youth percussion ensemble, junior concert band, youth jazz orchestra and the Bolton Music Service Singers.
The series of concerts finishes on Thursday. Tickets, priced £4 and £2.50 for concessions, are available on the door. The box office opens at 6pm ahead of the 7pm performances.
