MANCHESTER Airport is preparing for one of the busiest weekends in its history next month with 225,000 people expected to jetaway from it all at Easter.
Over the bank holiday weekend extra security and customer service staff will be on duty and passengers are being reminded to check the latest security rules to help cut down delays.
Travellers are allowed just one item of hand baggage which can only contain bottles of liquids, gels or pastes if they are less than 100mls in size.
These items must fit into in a small, re-sealable plastic wallet around half the size of an A4 sheet of paper, and will have to be X-rayed separately from hand luggage. Passengers will still be allowed to carry medicines and items such as baby foods in their hand luggage for use during the flight, although passengers may be asked for proof that these items are needed.
Further information about the current security restrictions are available or the airport's website at www.manchesterairport.co.uk
