J2 nightclub, in Nelson's Square, has announced that it will be taking a new direction with an indie night every Thursday.
Indie-pendent launches on March 29, and the club's managers say they are hoping to attract fans of everyone from The Killers to Kasabian.
The opening night will feature a guest DJ spot from XFm drivetime DJ Mark Kaye, with a playlist including The Gossip, Klaxons, The White Stripes, The Fratellis and Bloc Party.
The night will also feature live music from local band The Baby Seal Clubbers, who enjoyed a successful appearance at J2's Valentine's Ball.
Influenced by Oasis, the Stone Roses and Kings of Leon, The Baby Seal Clubbers have been invited to become the club's "house band", and will play a selection of indie covers alongside their own material.
Organisers are also on the lookout for guest bands to play slots. Interested bands should email indiependent@j2barnightclub.com with their details.
