YOUNG footballers are to scale new heights in a bid to raise £9,500 to allow them to use toilets at their pitches.
Up to 50 boys and girls from Daisy Hill Juniors will tackle the 20-metre twin towers of Blackpool's Base Camp climbing walls on Saturday. Climbing instructors James Rutter and John Kirby are giving their time for free to help the sponsored event.
The youngsters who take part will receive a certificate and medal for their efforts.
The club's 120 members have to use one portable toilet at the Leigh Road pitch. A new drainage system must be installed before they can use the changing room loos.
Fundraising co-ordinator Sharon Goulding said: "We are desperate to get the toilets operational because we can have up to 300 people at the ground on any day."
The club has raised £2,700. To sponsor the youngsters call Sharon on 07719 643824.
