A THIEF who smashed open a locker at a leisure centre to steal car keys has been jailed for four months.
Dean Worthington, aged 26, of Lavender Road, Farnworth, burst into Farnworth Leisure, Centre in Brackley Street, last Thursday at about 6pm.
He covered his face as he walked past the front counter without paying.
He walked into the male changing rooms, forced open a locker and stole the keys to Vauxhall Omega which was car parked outside. He stole the car, but was stopped by police a short time later, arrested and charged with burglary and taking a vehicle without consent.
He appeared at Bolton Magistrates' Court on Friday and was sentenced to four months in jail for the burglary. He was also given one month for stealing the car, and three months for driving while disqualified, to run concurrently.
Worthington was also banned from driving for three years.
