AN Easter Sunday gourmet lunch has been created by a top Bolton chef to help celebrate the tenth anniversary of Mere Hall.
Mere Hall has asked chef, Mike Harrison, to create a mouthwatering - and original - family meal.
The event is a ticket-only affair but among those tucking in will be a family of Bolton News readers. Readers can enter their names for a draw to win a place at the lunch.
Barbara Smith, Mere Hall's manager, said: "We are well known in Bolton for weddings and as a venue for meetings and conferences, but we want more people to enjoy the beautiful building and its surroundings.
"Having chef Mike Harrison cook a wonderful Easter Lunch is the beginning of a series of special events which we are planning throughout 2007 which will launch us as a venue where you can expect something very different."
Mike from Chefs to Go, said: "We will be using as many local ingredients as we can, to produce quality, tasty affordable food."
His menu will include starters of tomato tartin with rocket and creme fraiche, grilled goats cheese nestled on a bed of mixed leaves and beetroot relish.
The main course consists of roast breast of chicken served with a creamy apple sauce, or roulade of salmon filled with spinach and sun blush tomato or rump of lamb with rosemary gravy.
There will be a selection of desserts and a small portion menu available for children.
Guests will also be able to have a family portrait taken by photographer Steven Ashworth.
Lunch will be served from noon and tickets cost £22.95 per adult and £8.82 per child. Anyone wanting to book a meal should telephone To t 01204 397049.
l For your chance to win a free family dinner for two adults and two children, plus a family portrait, send your name, address and telephone number to Mere Hall Easter Sunday Lunch, Thomasson Park, Mere Hall Road, Bolton, BL1 2QT.
