A MAN who violently assaulted his former partner at her home has been jailed.
Liverpool Crown Court heard that Paul Cunniffe's attacks included kicking Heather Prescott in the groin and repeatedly punching her in the face.
As Ms Prescott lay on the floor after his attack and, fearing he had killed her, he placed her in the recovery position and called an ambulance.
But Cunniffe, aged 39, who was covered in her blood, then walked off and went to a nearby McDonald's restaurant.
He later told police he attacked her because she had damaged his television.
The attack took place just two days after an earlier assault on her, involving hitting her in the face and knocking her to the floor.
Both incidents occurred despite a bail condition banning him from her home in Windermere Road, Leigh.
Cunniffe, of Beverley Avenue, Leigh, pleaded guilty to wounding, assault, harassment, criminal damage and twice breaching his bail conditions.
He was jailed for two and a half years and banned from going within half a mile of Ms Prescott's home.
