A ROBBER threatened a teenage shop assistant with a six-inch knife and stole £100 in cash.
The raider struck at a newsagents in Bennett's Lane, Halliwell, at 6.25pm on Saturday.
He bought a Mars bar, before pulling out a knife as the 18-year-old girl, who was working alone in the shop, opened the till.
The robber threatened her with the blade, before pushing past her and emptying the till.
He was white, aged around 20, 5ft 10ins tall and unshaven. He was wearing blue jeans and a black hooded top. He was also wearing a black cap under the hood and black leather gloves.
The knife was a six-inch kitchen knife with a black handle.
Police are appealing for information about this and another knife-related incident which happened on Saturday, February 10, between 10pm and 10.30pm.
Two robbers walked into Belmont News in Belmont Road, Astley Bridge.
They threatened the shop assistant with a knife and demanded cash, but fled empty handed when the shop worker refused to co-operate.
The first raider was 5ft10ins tall, slim, in his late teens. He was wearing a camouflage jacket with the hood over his face and black trousers. He was carrying a four-inch folding knife The second raider was 5ft10ins tall, slim, wearing a hooded top with grey and yellow horizontal stripes across the chest.
