A MURDER probe has been launched by police after a man was stabbed to death in Farnworth.
A man named locally as Keith Platt, aged 30, was found with multiple stab wounds in Market Street, Farnworth.
Officers on patrol in the town centre had noticed a fight had broken out in Market Street at 11.15pm on Friday night.
Mr Platt was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital but staff were unable to save him.
Officers arrested an 18-year-old at the scene on suspicion of murder.
Two further men were later arrested on suspicion of murder.
Mr Platt's father, Colin, aged 58, of Grovesnor Street, Kearsley, said: "I can't believe what has happened."
Detective are calling for witnesses, or anybody who was in the area of the Post Office pub in Higher Market Street at the time of the incident to get in touch.
