YOUNG scientists were welcomed to the House of Commons by a Bolton MP for National Science and Engineering Week.
Bolton South-east MP Brian Iddon was present for a Question Time-style question-and-answer session to mark the annual Voice of the Future event, which encourages young people and parliamentarians to exchange science ideas.
The event, organised by the Royal Society of Chemistry, gave young scientists and engineers the chance to liaise with members of the parliamentary Science and Technology Select Committee.
Labour MP, Dr Iddon, who has a PhD in organic chemistry, said: "I was delighted to be able to welcome so many talented young scientists to Parliament at the beginning of National Science and Engineering Week.
"It is really important that our young people feel engaged with science and also have the opportunity to communicate their concerns and interests to parliamentarians."
