Castaway Erica Hurst has hinted that she would like to return to lap dancing after being banned by her husband.

The 22-year-old also lifted the lid on Bolton's seedy underbelly, telling fellow contestant Joe how punters would pay £250 for an hour's private dance, sometimes during their lunch breaks.

In an emotional conversation with occupational therapist Joe - who she has admitted she has a crush on - Erica told how she was forced to quit lap dancing before Christmas following an argument with her husband Matthew Williams.

She said: "Christmas is a good time because you can earn £400 a night and we'd already reached a compromise as I'd said I would quit after New Year. He'd said he would pay me and came into the club and was shouting in front of everyone, so I picked up my stuff and he marched me out."

Erica says she first started lap dancing after finishing university, when she was unsure of what to do.

She said: "A friend suggested it to me, but I can't dance. I was walking past a local pub and I saw a sign saying lap dancers wanted' so I went in. I thought it was a bit seedy but decided to give it a go."

Despite becoming friends with her fellow lap dancers in Bolton, Erica moved to London, but hated it. Of her time in Bolton she said: "People were coming in for dances at 1pm or 2pm in their lunch breaks."

When asked by Joe if she wanted to return to lap dancing Erica nodded her head, but said "I don't know".

The revelations have made husband Matthew all the more determined to up his campaign to join his wife on the island as the mystery contestant.

He said: "She's told me she doesn't want to go back to dancing, and even if she did, she isn't going to. I've been out with lap dancers before, but I cared about her more than the others so I wanted her to stop.

"I just want to get to spend time with her and I know she would want me there. I want to have a little honeymoon before the honeymoon period's over."
