SISTER and brother Amy and Sam Hilton are urging schools to back their bid to care for cats and kittens.
Last year, the Atherton and Wigan branch of the Cats Protection League dealt with over 2,500 cats and kittens, found homes for 720 felines, and neutered 1,214.
But the group is desperate for donations to continue its work.
Supporters Amy, aged 12, and Sam, aged 11, are contacting schools suggesting they hold non-uniform days, with pupils paying for the privilege of dressing casually and the proceeds being used to further the branch's work.
Garry Phillips, branch co-ordinator, said: "It's absolutely wonderful what these children are doing, and we are hoping schools, pupils and parents will lend their support.
"The future of our work lies in the hands of today's youth."
The Hiltons will be promoting the cause at an Easter Fair on April 7 at Lowton Community Centre.
Anyone who wants to support the branch's work can send donations to branch treasurer Mrs B Jones, 3 Rosedale Drive, Leigh WN7 2TN.
