BUDDING Arctic Monkeys are needed for a "battle of the bands" competition to raise money for a girls' football team.
Golborne Girls FC has almost 100 girls playing and training regularly, which is putting a huge demand on their limited resources.
Now team member and aspiring music promoter Daryl Bradbury, aged 15, is trying to raise hundreds of pounds for her club by organising an Easter weekend musical bonanza So far, 16 bands, including acts from Liverpool, Bolton, Leigh and Golborne, have signed up to compete in the Easter Wipeout.
Entry fee is £25 per band and the winner's prize is £500.
All the money made through ticket sales will be used to support the team.
The competition will be decided by the audience.
The event is on Friday and Saturday, April 6 and 7, at Golborne Sports and Social Club.
Tickets cost £5.
Four more bands are needed to complete the line-up and rock DJs are wanted to play between the live acts.
The closing date for entries is March 16.
