BUS users who fear they will be left out in the cold when their service is withdrawn have turned to town councillors for help.
The 559 bus from Bolton to Wigan via Westhoughton will be withdrawn from April 15, along with other services which bus company First says are "failing".
Westhoughton town councillors say they have received complaints from residents who will be left without the half-hourly service which enters Westhoughton, from Bolton, along the A6 Manchester Road, Park Road and Market Street before continuing to Wigan on the A58 Wigan Road.
People living in Southfield Drive, Westhoughton, could be worst affected.
Town councillor David Chadwick said: "We're unhappy about this because it will affect a whole range of people, from schoolchildren and workers, to those who need to go shopping for basic necessities."
The town council will campaign to the Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive (GMPTE) and Bolton-west MP Ruth Kelly to find a substitute service or alternative solution.
