ATHERTON LR are still searching for a first win under new manager Roy Sweeney after slipping to a narrow defeat at Silsden in the NWCL Division One.
The game hinged on an incident in the 74th minute when Rovers defender, Ross Kenyon, deliberately handled the ball in the penalty area.
The referee had no hesitation in sending off Kenyon, and worse was to follow for LR when the home side converted the resulting spot-kick.
However, the visitors did have a chance to leave West Yorkshire with a point, but Oliver Babbington blazed over from the edge of the area as Atherton looked for the equaliser.
Daisy Hill, meanwhile, went down 3-0 at Ashton Town on Tuesday night.
