BOLTON HC Ladies travelled to the North East to play Roseberry. Bolton needed a win to stay ahead of Leeds Adel at the top of the table and keep their championship-winning hopes on track.
The ladies had a mixed start, dominating possession early on with an excellent passing game and were unlucky to concede midway through the first half.
Vicky Warburton scored soon after to equalise, tapping in from a penalty corner.
Despite the teams being at opposite ends of the table, Roseberry continued to put Bolton under pressure in the second half, and both defences had to work hard to keep the score at 1-1.
Donna Hilton and Kerry Barnes both had superb games in defence and created some great attacking opportunities for the midfield.
Bolton's spirit won through in the end and Aston Duerden scored Bolton's second two minutes from time A win this weekend will secure promotion to the North Premier League.
