MCFLY'S Danny Jones has spoken about how pleased the band are to see the good work their 2004 Comic Relief single All About You has paid for in Africa.
The singer, who was a student at Thornleigh Salesian College, joined his bandmates on a trip to Kamwokya in Uganda where Comic Relief has been helping educate children and to run clinics.
Money raised from McFly's double A side single All About You/You've Got A Friend helped Comic Relief build a three storey school and put more doctors in local clinics which serve thousands of people.
Danny said: "It's really rewarding because we saw what the money from the single did."
The band have also announced nine extra dates to their Up Close and Personal Tour.
The new dates include an appearance at Blackburn's Saint George's Hall on Tuesday April 24.
Tickets go on sale this Saturday at 9am.
They decided to add the extra concerts after tickets for their 24-date tour sold out in record time.
Tickets cost £22.50 and are available by ringing 0871 2200 260 online from www.gigsandtours.com.
Danny, Dougie, Tom and Harry will appear on a special Top Gear challenge for Comic Relief on Red Nose Day, on Friday
